Some moments in nature feel almost too extraordinary to be real.

Inspired by the spectacular northern lights visible across Washington in 2024, I took a little artistic license and imagined Mount Rainier beneath a sweeping aurora-filled sky — one of Washington’s most iconic landscapes transformed by one of nature’s most unforgettable displays.

Like the places throughout my collection, Mount Rainier is somewhere I’ve experienced for myself before bringing it home to draw. Each piece is created by hand on my iPad using my Apple Pen, with dozens of hours spent building the details, color, and atmosphere that give the artwork its sense of place.

This piece is available as a fine art print in four sizes: 12×18, 18×24, 24×36, and 24×44 inches, so you can choose anything from a smaller accent piece to a dramatic statement artwork.
