Inspired by the spectacular northern lights visible across Washington in 2024, I took a little artistic license and imagined Mount Rainier beneath a sweeping aurora-filled sky — one of the Pacific Northwest’s most iconic peaks transformed by one of nature’s most magical displays.

Like the places throughout my collection, Mount Rainier is somewhere I’ve personally experienced before bringing it home to draw. The original artwork was created by hand on my iPad using my Apple Pen, with dozens of hours spent building the mountain, forest, night sky, and glowing aurora one detail at a time.
