Inspired by Mount Si, this artwork captures the mountain rising above the valley with elk grazing below — a scene that feels unmistakably North Bend.

One of my favorite things about this area is watching the elk in the fields beneath the mountain. Seeing them with Mount Si in the background is such a special part of the landscape, and I wanted this piece to capture that connection between the wildlife and the mountain.

I’ve also hiked Mount Si myself, and it is definitely a challenging climb. It’s steep, demanding, and earns every bit of its reputation — but once you reach the top, the views make the effort completely worth it.

Like every place throughout my collection, Mount Si is somewhere I’ve personally experienced before bringing it home to draw. The original artwork was created by hand on my iPad using my Apple Pen, with many hours spent building the mountain, elk, fields, forest, and colorful sky one detail at a time.
