Silver Fir is one of those places that completely changes with the seasons.

In winter, Silver Fir at The Summit at Snoqualmie is a fantastic place for skiing and snowboarding, with tree-lined runs and that classic Pacific Northwest mountain atmosphere. But when the snow melts, the mountain takes on a completely different personality.

During the summer, the Silver Fir chairlift becomes part of the resort’s mountain biking experience, giving riders lift access to trails winding through the forest. That seasonal transformation is what inspired this artwork — the same mountain, the same chairlift, but an entirely different kind of adventure.

Like every location in my collection, Silver Fir is somewhere I’ve personally experienced before bringing it home to draw. The original artwork was created by hand on my iPad using my Apple Pencil, with hours spent building the forest, trail, movement, and small details that capture the feeling of riding through the mountains.
