Teanaway – Sandstone Rock Artwork

Inspired by the rugged beauty of the Teanaway area near Cle Elum, Washington, this artwork captures the view from Sandstone Rock, looking out toward the dramatic peaks of the Stuart Mountain Range, surrounded by dense evergreen forest, pale sandstone formations, and a soft aurora-inspired sky.

Like every place throughout my collection, the Teanaway is somewhere I’ve personally experienced before bringing it home to draw. This particular viewpoint is one I especially love because of how much there is to take in from one spot.

A fun detail about this view: if you were standing here in real life and looked just off to the right, you’d be right next to Cheese Rock, one of the area’s distinctive sandstone formations.

The original artwork was created by hand on my iPad using my Apple Pen, with many hours spent building the Stuart Mountain Range, forest, sandstone, trees, and sky one detail at a time.
